Centre Foundation is currently accepting applications from Centre County high school students looking to make an impact in their community through Centre PACT (Philanthropic Actions Created by Teens).
Centre PACT is a hands-on philanthropy program that will help to hone students’ leadership, communication, professional, and networking skills. Students from across the county meet to discuss issues facing the community, learn about potential solutions that nonprofits offer, and ultimately fund the programs that they think will be most effective.
“It is truly remarkable to see how students grow over the course of the program,” said Molly Kunkel, Executive Director at Centre Foundation. “They discover so much about Centre County, each other, and themselves.”
Since the program’s inception in 2015, Centre PACT students have granted more than $22,000 to 15 local organizations.
Meetings will be held monthly on Sundays during the school year, beginning on Oct. 21 from 5-7 pm at Centre Foundation’s office (1377 Ridge Master Drive, State College, PA 16803). Applications are due by Friday, Sept. 28.
