State College, PA – July 11, 2023 – Centre County nonprofits are invited to apply for Centre Foundation’s Giving Circle grants. These grants are awarded by Giving Circle members, a group of community-minded individuals who pool their resources and fund local transformative projects. The deadline to apply is August 24 by 11:59 p.m. at Centre-Foundation.org.
Every year, Centre Foundation’s Giving Circle receives grant applications from local nonprofits. Giving Circle members then choose their top three applicants to present at the live Giving Circle reception in the fall. During this event, each organization will pitch its project to Giving Circle members, who will vote for which nonprofit they would like to receive the $10,000 grant.
“The Giving Circle is a unique opportunity for both nonprofits and individual community members,” said President and CEO of Centre Foundation, Molly Kunkel. “It offers local organizations the chance to apply for a grant that will make a significant difference on one of their programs. And it allows community members to be a part of a larger group while making a big impact.”
Since the Giving Circle’s inception in 2006, members have distributed $220,000 in grants to support programs throughout Centre County. Some past projects include:
- Out of Cold’s Permanent Shelter program
- Jana Marie Foundation’s Teen Mental Health First Aid program
- CentrePeace’s Community Conferencing initiative
- And more!
