Janet Atwood established this field-of-interest fund to provide ongoing support for the arts, in any form, throughout Centre County.  Her commitment to the arts is demonstrated by her 35-year membership in the State College Choral Society, where she served on the board multiple times, and her support for the Center for the Performing Arts.  Janet attended Skidmore College and played field hockey in the pre-Title IX era.  She later taught at the University of Iowa – where she received her master’s degree – and the University of New Hampshire.  After a 30-year-career, Janet retired from Penn State as an Associate Professor Emerita of Kinesiology in the College of Health and Human Development at Penn State.  She served as Chair of the University Faculty Senate from 1989-1990. This fund continues her dedication to the arts in our community.
